Welcome to my Web page. I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and to tell you about my philosophy and practice at Kaiser Permanente. I hope this introduction helps you feel more comfortable about me as a physician. I look forward to working with you.
I was born in Texas and grew up in San Diego. I first became interested in medicine when I was in college. I believe I was drawn to orthopedic surgery by the care I received with my own personal injuries and surgeries. I spent five years in Washington, DC, for my residency training, and I was able to return to San Diego for a spine fellowship. I love Southern California, and I was happy to have the opportunity to stay in San Diego to practice medicine.
The orthopedic spine surgery group at the San Diego Medical Center consists of four surgeons. Because each of us has different training, our practice benefits from our different backgrounds and approaches to member care. We work with the other orthopedic surgeons, physician assistants, nurses, orthopedic techs, and many other staff members who assist in member care. I especially enjoy being able to communicate and educate members and work together to help them feel better.
Keeping balance in my life is very important to me. I enjoy spending time with my family and engaging in outdoor activities. Our children are very active and always keep us busy! My hobbies include surfing, music, and working with computers. My wife and I also have a chocolate Labrador who always enjoys attention and is always up for a long walk or a game of fetch.
