About me

Welcome! I’m excited to introduce myself and tell you more about the experiences, education, and interests that have shaped me and my care. I think it’s important to find a primary care physician who aligns with your personal health priorities, and I hope this page will help you get to know me.

Biography

Born just outside of Chicago, I spent most of my life in the Midwest. I come from a family of teachers and chemists and never had aspirations of becoming a doctor while growing up. Then, when I was a senior in high school, my father died after a battle with cancer. The impact of his illness and medical care were long lasting—I will never forget the compassion of his physicians or the considerable time they spent with my family: explaining, educating, comforting, supporting. For me, being a doctor is a way to connect with families and members to provide that same positive experience, no matter what the situation.

About my practice

I view every member visit as an opportunity to partner with you on your health journey, wherever you may be at that particular time. My background in nutrition has taught me the importance of food in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases, which I am passionate about sharing with members. Additionally, I have specific training in LGBT and women’s health.

How I thrive

I am always striving for balance among the aspects of my life, as that is when I feel my best. For me, that includes plenty of time with my husband and 2 dogs (greyhound and Italian greyhound) and enjoying all that San Diego has to offer: beaches, delicious fresh food, hiking, Dodgers games at Petco, and weekend trips to Baja. I also enjoy reading, distance running, and creating recipes in the kitchen.
