Where I practice
Hello, and thank you for visiting my Web page. I hope you will find it informative and useful. I feel very fortunate to work with an outstanding group of ophthalmologists and support staff that assist me in my goal of providing high-quality care.
I was born in Seattle and spent most of my formative years growing up in San Jose. After college at UC Davis, I received my medical degree in Chicago and completed my ophthalmology residency in Wisconsin. While I was grateful to have that life experience and met my wife during my time in the Midwest, we were both happy about the subsequent move to California. I spent the first half of my career working for Kaiser Permanente in Northern California, and our family grew by 3 during that time. We were all grateful that life led us to San Diego for the second half of my working career.
About my practice
As a comprehensive ophthalmologist, I partner with members to manage issues such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinal issues, dry eyes, and so much more. I also present data at national ophthalmology meetings and do research on eye-related issues. My goal is to help members understand their eye conditions, optimize their visual potential, and feel as comfortable along this journey as possible.
How I thrive
When not working, I spend time with my wife and 3 children, exploring locally as well as abroad when possible. We look forward to many new adventures now that we live in Southern California.
