Where I practice
About me
I am a hematologist/medical oncologist practicing at Kaiser Permanente’s Bellflower Medical Center. I am committed to providing compassionate care based on evidence and current research for members facing a wide spectrum of cancer and blood disorders. I view it as a privilege to support individuals and their families through what can be one of the most challenging times in their lives, and I strive to deliver care that aligns with their goals, needs, and values.
Biography
I received my medical degree from Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland — one of the oldest and most distinguished medical institutions in Europe. I completed my internal medicine residency at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, and my hematology/oncology fellowship at Harbor–UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California.
Throughout my training and clinical practice, I developed a strong interest in both malignant and benign hematology, with particular expertise in paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH), multiple myeloma, smoldering multiple myeloma, and inflammatory breast cancer.
About my practice
My approach to cancer care is grounded in scientific rigor, clinical experience, and compassion. I believe in treating each member as a whole person — not just addressing their diagnosis but understanding their priorities, their family, and the life they want to lead during and after treatment.
I combine state-of-the-art therapies with personalized guidance to help members navigate their diagnosis with clarity and confidence.
Cancer Subspecialty Focus
My clinical expertise includes the diagnosis and management of a broad range of solid tumors and hematologic conditions. I care for members with gastrointestinal cancers, breast cancer, head and neck cancers, genitourinary cancers, skin cancers including melanoma, lung cancer and thymoma, and thyroid and endocrine tumors. I also treat complex and malignant hematologic disorders such as lymphoma, along with benign blood conditions. In addition, I also have advanced experience in malignant and benign hematology, including complex disorders such as PNH, myeloma, lymphomas, cytopenias, and bone marrow failure syndromes.
Collaboration on Multidisciplinary Teams
At Kaiser Permanente, team-based care is central to achieving positive outcomes. I participate in regional thoracic, classic hematology, and multidisciplinary tumor boards, working closely with experts in medical oncology, hematology, surgery, radiation oncology, pathology, and radiology.
This team approach helps ensure that each member receives a comprehensive, personalized treatment plan supported by current clinical evidence and collective expertise of multiple subspecialists.
Research and Clinical Trials
Clinical research plays an important role in my practice. I have participated in the design and conduct of clinical studies, and my work has been presented at national conferences such as the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR). My published and presented research includes:
• CD marker expression loss in relapsed/refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (ASCO 2022)
• Toxicity profile of asparaginase in Hispanic patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ASCO 2022)
• Managing histologic transformation (Los Angeles Lymphoma Rounds, 2021)
• Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease case analysis (Journal of Clinical Rheumatology, 2020)
• Pituitary adenoma hormonal immunoexpression (Acta Endocrinologica, 2020)
• Predictive biomarkers for bevacizumab in recurrent glioblastoma (AACR 2020)
Actively participating in research allows me to remain at the forefront of emerging treatments and to bring promising new therapies directly to members.
How I thrive
I believe that thriving as a physician comes from balance, continuous learning, and gratitude. Staying grounded, spending meaningful time with family, and maintaining personal well-being enable me to bring compassion, energy, and focus to members every day.
