Welcome to my Web page. I am absolutely thrilled to be serving the Southern California community as a dermatologist at Kaiser Permanente.
I grew up in Phoenix and went to Pomona College in Claremont, California. After that, I spent 12 years in Tucson, Arizona, working on a Ph.D. in pharmacology and toxicology, as well as earning my medical degree from the University of Arizona. After an internship in internal medicine at the University Medical Center in Tucson, I moved to Philadelphia to complete my training in dermatology at Thomas Jefferson University. In graduate school, I used to visit my sister during her dermatology residency and just fell in love with this specialty. I went to medical school with the express purpose of becoming a dermatologist.
The practice of medicine at Kaiser Permanente is perfectly aligned with my vision of healthcare: prevention, collaborative group practice, few barriers to care, and encouraging us to do all that is necessary for our patients. We are a constantly improving department, continuously striving to meet (and exceed) the dermatology needs of San Diegans. I look forward to meeting you and addressing any skin-related concerns you may have. I enjoy treating dermatological issues, acute and chronic, in children and adults. As a medical dermatologist, I try to focus on skin cancer, growths, and rashes. I work primarily from the Clairemont Mesa Medical Offices, but spend some time at the Carmel Valley Medical Offices as well.
My time away from work is spent riding my road and mountain bicycles, woodworking, preparing vegetarian meals with my wife and toddler, messing around with various guitars, and sometimes just relaxing with my family. I enjoy taking in all the beauty that sunny San Diego has to offer.
