Welcome to my Web page. I am glad to have the opportunity to tell you about my practice and myself. I hope the information below will help you to know me better as your physician.
I was born and raised in Myanmar. When I was young, my grandparents had a significant role in my upbringing. I lived with my grandmother who lived to 101 years old with advanced dementia, and my 80-year-old aunt who had frequent falls, so my personal experiences have inspired me to find ways to promote quality of life in all my patients. I attended the medical school at Institute of Medicine in Myanmar. Upon graduation from medical school, I worked as an attending physician for three years in Myanmar. I completed my residency in family medicine at Lutheran Medical Center in New York, where I was chief resident of my family medicine residency program, a great honor. I joined Kaiser Permanente right after my fellowship in geriatric medicine at UCLA.
I am part of the Continuing Care Department at Kaiser Permanente Antelope Valley Medical Center. My main practice is providing quality care to home-bound Kaiser Permanente members and rehabilitating patients at skilled nursing facilities, as well as providing primary care to custodial long- term residents at skilled nursing facilities. I also see members at Geriatric Assessment Clinic for geriatric consultations and comprehensive geriatric assessments. I work closely with other health professionals to optimize patients' function and provide the best care possible. I emphasize the importance of collaborating closely with patients to ensure that his or her treatment is not only effective, but that is also what he or she wants. My goal is to maximize my patient functional status through preventive care and education.
I am blessed to have wonderful family and friends and work that I love. In addition to practicing medicine, I enjoy fishing, running, and travelling. I also love watching sports as well as spending time with my husband and friends.
