Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to tell you about my practice as a family physician. I feel very fortunate to work among my wonderful colleagues and patients at Kaiser Permanente, and I look forward to working with you to care for your health. Hablo español y me enorgullece poder atender a mis pacientes que hablan español.
I was born in Cuba and moved to the United States as a child, where I was raised in the East Los Angeles and Montebello areas. I am fluent in both English and Spanish. I did my premed studies at UCLA and completed my medical training at the USC School of Medicine. I completed my residency at Presbyterian Hospital in Whittier, where I specialized in family practice. While in Los Angeles, I had more than 10 years of experience working both as a private practitioner and in a group setting. I now live in beautiful San Diego and am proud to work with a fine team of physicians. I have been practicing medicine for more than 25 years.
About my practice
I believe that healthy living and preventive care are the best ways to stay healthy, but I am also here to help when you are ill. I want to be your partner in health, and it helps me better care for you when you are actively involved in taking care of your health. I speak fluent Spanish and enjoy communicating in my native language with members to make health education more effective. I believe that education is a very important part of overall health care.
How I thrive
Outside work, my family life is my highest priority. I enjoy family outings to the beach, parks, and local San Diego attractions. For a healthy lifestyle, I strive to run 20 to 30 minutes every day, and exercise and stretch as well. I try to eat a healthy diet and set an example for my patients and family. Swimming in a pool, playing tennis, reading, and listening to relaxing music are things I love to do and would do more often if I had enough time. Our young daughter, two responsible older children, and extended family keep my wife and me very busy and family-centered.
