Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page! I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice.
I was born and raised in Honolulu on the beautiful island of Oahu. After high school, I decided to come to California for college. I did my undergraduate studies up in the Bay Area at Stanford University, but decided to return to Hawaii for medical school. I completed my medical training (internship, residency and fellowship) in Southern California, and decided to live here. I enjoy traveling, and I try to return to Hawaii to visit my family as often as possible.
About my practice
Medicine as a career is a very special opportunity to connect to and help people in a meaningful way. Good vision is a very precious gift, and it is a privilege to help patients maintain-and in some cases restore-that gift. As a retinal specialist, my emphasis is on diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration and retinal detachment. I have done research in the areas of diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, tumors of the eye and AIDS-related CMV retinitis.
How I thrive
Keeping balance in my life is very important to me. I run and exercise regularly. I hope to do more volunteer work. I have participated in medical missions to the Philippines and to Laos, which were extraordinary experiences. Lastly, it is essential to me to have time to just relax and spend time with friends and loved ones.
