Where I practice
Hello and welcome to my Web page! My specialty is nephrology (kidney care). I am happy to have this opportunity to share some information about myself with you.
I grew up in Southern California, but decided to explore other parts of the country for my medical training. I completed medical school in Mexico and New York, which was a wonderful opportunity for me to learn Spanish and immerse myself in diverse cultures. After that, I had my residency trained at the University of Connecticut. I then made my way back West and finished my nephrology training at the University of Washington. San Diego has always held a special place in my heart. I knew since my college days here that I wanted to eventually settle down in San Diego and raise a family. I am thrilled to have finally moved back home. My experiences in different parts of the country and world have helped shaped me into the doctor that I am today and I am grateful for that.
About my practice
I feel that healthy living and preventive care are the best ways to stay healthy, but I'm also here to help you when you are sick. I want to be your partner in health, and it helps me better care for you when you are actively involved in taking care of your health. My practice covers a wide range of adult kidney diseases in both the hospital and office settings. I enjoy the diverse challenges renal diseases present, and the opportunity to work closely with a team of care providers including nutritionists, pharmacists, and nurses to help provide the best care possible to our members. My philosophy is member-centered care, along with strong collaboration with a multidisciplinary team including colleagues, nurse staff, dietitians, and social workers coming together for a common goal: optimized member care. I am committed to the well-being of members, and I hope to develop strong, trusting, and long-lasting member-physician relationships. It's very important that you feel comfortable with your physician, and I hope that this page will help you start to get to know me.
How I thrive
Keeping balance in my life is very important to me. I volunteer for the Pasadena Historical Society and the Pacific Asia Museum. I’m a runner and swimmer, and now participate in the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Triathlon. I also make it a priority to set aside time to just relax or read a good novel.
