Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I'm happy to have the opportunity to share with you a few details about myself and my practice. It's very important to be comfortable with your physician, so I hope this page will help you start to get to know me and the way I address surgical conditions of the spinal column.
I am originally from the white sandy beaches of Florida but was "dragged" out to Southern California to complete my orthopedic surgery residency at UCLA. I then went back to Florida and completed 14 months of spine surgery training at the University of Miami. This was a fantastic learning experience, as I was trained by both orthopedic spine surgeons and neurosurgeons. I focused on treating pathology of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. I then moved back to beautiful San Diego to start practice after all these years of training.
About my practice
I enjoy my career in medicine because it's truly a great opportunity to connect with people in a personal, unique way while also utilizing my surgical skills. I try to listen to members and respond to the problem causing the distress or disability with a surgical solution only if I feel there is a good surgical option. I enjoy communicating with people so that they understand the root of the problem. I feel very honored that members have entrusted me with their care, and I strive to treat them as I would my own family. Keeping balance in my life is very important to me. I stay fit by playing volleyball, running, and surfing. I enjoy playing golf, snow skiing, tuna fishing, and sailing. I will be going on my first Heli-skiing trip next year!
