About me

Hi, my name is Jin Sun. I'm glad to have the opportunity to present my credentials to you and share other information about myself. It's very important that you feel comfortable with your personal physician, and I hope this page will help you get to know me.

Biography

I was a board-certified cardio-thoracic surgeon in Korea, and I came to the United States in 2006, initially thinking to stay only a few years. I worked at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Tennessee as a research fellow in thoracic surgery, and did a clinical fellowship in thoracic surgery at University Hospitals of Cleveland/Case Western Medical Center, in Ohio. However, my family decided to live in the United States, and I switched my field to family medicine. This was a great choice, because I now can treat the everyday needs of my family members. I am now an urgent care physician in Bakersfield, and I hope my experience in both surgical and medical aspects can help my patients to receive quality care.

About my practice

Everyone needs urgent care at least once in their life. I know it could be my mother or my child walking into an urgent care clinic one day, asking for help. Keeping that in mind, I try to treat all my patients as I would treat my family members.

How I thrive

I think I get everyday healing by interacting with my kids. They provide me with mental energy and motivation. Playing with them is a lot of physical exercise as well. Sometimes they can give you stress instead, but overall they seem to be the best gift to my mind, body, and spirit.
