Where I practice
I'm glad to have this opportunity to tell you more about myself. I hope that sharing my background and interests will help you feel more comfortable with me as your physician.
I was born at a Kaiser Permanente medical center in Cleveland, Ohio, but spent most of my childhood on Grand Island, New York—an island in the middle of the Niagara River that faces Canada. I followed my husband to San Diego and I absolutely love it here. I enjoy running, cycling, and ocean swimming. I also take pleasure in playing the violin and piano with my son, who’s in elementary school. What I love about my job is that I get to meet so many people and develop special relationships with them. It's quite an honor for me to have people trust me with their care. I also like that I'm able to directly help people and see the results of my work.
About my practice
I pride myself in involving members in their own care. I favor a team approach in which everyone has the same goal of helping you to get well or stay well. I view each member of the team (including you) as having a vital role in achieving that goal. It is important to me that you understand everything about your disease or illness, as well as all the options for treatment. I feel responsible for my members, and so I will be very much involved in your care before, during, and after surgery.
How I thrive
I’m fortunate to be a Kaiser Permanente physician because of the emphasis we place on maintaining a work-life balance. I enjoy different challenges so I'm constantly trying new activities. Since I moved to San Diego, I’ve run a marathon, done a half Ironman triathlon, and cycled up Palomar Mountain. I also value the time I spend with my husband and son. We make it a point to have dinner together each evening and catch up on the day's events.
