Where I practice
Welcome. I'm happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I am a pediatrician who focuses on helping children with a variety of developmental, learning, and behavioral needs. I feel very fortunate and privileged to work at Kaiser Permanente because of my wonderful colleagues and our members, and I look forward to working with your family to care for your child's health
Although I was born in Korea, I consider myself a native Southern Californian. I earned my undergraduate degree at UC Berkeley and my medical degree at New York Medical College. During medical school, I was fascinated by neurology and psychiatry. However, I decided to pursue pediatrics because I also enjoyed working with children and families. When I discovered that these three fields intersected in developmental and behavioral pediatrics, I knew I had found what I was looking for. I completed fellowship training at Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York.
About my practice
In our Learning and Development Clinic, we see children with a variety of developmental, learning, and behavioral needs. If you have concerns about your child regarding possible language delay, motor delay, socialization issues, learning difficulties, attention, or behavior, we may be able to help you figure out what is going on and what steps you should take moving forward. During our initial consultation, we review prior evaluations and testing, address current developmental or behavioral concerns, formally assess current developmental skills, and make recommendations for follow-up care. I strongly believe that a big part of my job is to provide you with information to help you make informed decisions about your child's care.
How I thrive
I firmly agree with Kaiser Permanente's philosophy of health in mind, body, and spirit. Living out one's life with fullness, purpose, integrity, and activity is important because that's how we were designed to function optimally. I live well by seeking to build strong relationships with friends and family, to spend quality time with my wife, to help my children grow and effectively navigate this world, and to try to exercise regularly. I enjoy the outdoors, the performing arts, eating well, and living life. I'm also a big Lakers fan, but I promise I'll try not to hold it against you if you aren't.
