About me
Welcome to my web page! I am pleased to be able to provide you with information about my practice and myself as an emergency medicine physician working at Kaiser Permanente's Baldwin Park Emergency Department. I am proud to be a part of Kaiser Permanente's medical group, and of our Emergency Department. We hope you never need to visit us in the ER, but if you do, be assured that our well-trained physician staff will always strive to provide the highest quality of care and service to you.
Biography
I was born and raised in the Los Angeles area. I grew up in Temple City, attended Arroyo High School. I was a good student, and was fortunate to earn a college scholarship to attend USC. After earning my undergraduate from USC, I also completed a Master's degree in anatomy, as well as medical school there. Yes, I am a die-hard Trojan through and through! It was during medical school rotations that I discovered the excitement and satisfaction of treating patients at the time and place when they needed it the most: during an emergency. I had discovered my niche, and completed my emergency medicine residency training at L.A. County-USC's General Hospital in 1995. I then was recruited and hired by Kaiser Permanente to work in the Baldwin Park facility in July 1995, and I have worked in Baldwin Park's Emergency Department since then.
About my practice
The Emergency Department serves to care for patients who are having medical emergencies. This may include resuscitations, stabilizing trauma victims, or identifying serious life-threatening diseases and beginning treatment for them. The ER sees many patients, and we treat a wide variety of illnesses that cover all medical specialties. I served as chief of the ER from 2000-2006, so I am very aware of our service goals that we strive to achieve during a patient's visit in our ER.
How I thrive
Outside of working in the busy ER, I like to relax with my family! I enjoy movies, reading, card games, collecting sports memorabilia, and exercise. I bike, play racquetball, and help coach my children in their soccer, volleyball, and baseball games. I love sports, and I often attend Dodgers, Lakers, and Trojans games with my family and friends. All of these activities rejuvenate my mind, body, and spirit, and allow me to do my best in my career, and in my life.
