About me

Welcome, and thank you for visiting my Web page. I’ve been a Kaiser Permanente physician since 1988 and, despite my large practice, I enjoy the interaction with each and every one of my members.

San Diego is home for me. Being the sixth child in a family of nine children was challenging but, despite these challenges, my desire to pursue a career in medicine began with my first job at age 15. I worked as a file clerk at a medical clinic. My bilingual skills took me to the exam rooms as a translator, and I fell in love with medicine. I completed my undergraduate education at UC San Diego, and volunteered at both the San Ysidro Health Center and the Logan Heights Family Health Center. This all reinforced my desire to become a physician and serve my community. I participated in Medicorps, providing health education to migrant workers living in migrant camps. During my four years at UC San Francisco School of Medicine, I had the privilege of working with many excellent family physicians, which influenced my decision to pursue a career in family medicine.

About my practice

I have the great privilege of working with many great physicians, nurses, and service representatives. We work together as a team to provide high-quality care to our members. I’m confident that members are well taken care of by my colleges when I’m out of the office. I encourage you to utilize our secure email system through Kaiser Permanente. org. It's a great way to communicate with your personal physician's office.

How I thrive

Health goes beyond the physical well-being of the body. It also encompasses our emotional, psychological, and spiritual health. Eating healthy, exercising, and having fun are as important as working. My spouse and my four daughters have been a great blessing to me. I have also been blessed with a wonderful mother who has helped me raise my four daughters. My family support has allowed me to be a mother, a wife, and a doctor. And now I’m enjoying my beautiful granddaughter, who is the joy of our family.
