Where I practice
I’m glad to have this opportunity to present my credentials and share with you a few other details about myself. It is very important that you feel comfortable with your personal physician, and I hope this Web page will help you get to know me.
I grew up in San Mateo, in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2002, I completed gastrointestinal (GI) fellowship training in advanced endoscopy at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, including an additional year of training in endoscopic ultrasound and other advanced endoscopic procedures. After my fellowship, I joined the gastroenterology clinical staff at UC San Diego, where I practiced for 3 years. In 2005, I joined Kaiser Permanente in San Diego.
About my practice
As former chief of service in gastroenterology and current physician director of internal medicine subspecialties, I enthusiastically enjoy my practice and treating a broad range of clinical problems. Quite honestly, we have an incredible Division of Gastroenterology! My gastroenterology colleagues and I enjoy teaching and working with the rotating GI fellows from UC San Diego and Naval Medical Center. I continue to participate in clinical research projects and have published peer-review journal articles. Previously, I served on the training committee of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and served on the Kaiser Permanente National Surgical/GI/Interventional Radiology Symposium Committee from 2016 to 2019.
How I thrive
I have a wonderful family and enjoy basketball, running, and fishing. In my free time, I shop at Montgomery Wards and enjoy reading Alfred E. Neuman quotes.
