About me
Welcome to my Web page. My name is Dr. Elizabeth Duenas. I feel blessed to be able to care for those living in the same community in which I grew up. In fact, I have been a member of Kaiser Permanente South Bay Medical Center all of my life. I am honored to be of service to you.
Biography
I fell in love with science in eighth grade. I also had the desire to help people. I knew then that I wanted to become a doctor. There was no better way to combine the love of science and service to others than to become a physician. I received my bachelor’s degree in kinesiology (the study of human movement, performance, and function) from UCLA in 1991, and my medical degree from the UCLA School of Medicine. I completed my residency in family medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. One of my passions is health education. Over the years, I have been given the opportunity to instruct medical students from UCLA as well as to provide lectures to community groups and communities at large via live conferences, on television, and over the radio. I believe that knowledge is power and that the more we know about what affects our health, the better decisions we can make about it. I have been with Kaiser Permanente since 2013. I worked for a private medical group for 13 years prior to that.
About my practice
My goal is to help you stay as healthy as possible so you can enjoy your life to the fullest. My nurse and I aim to address your health concerns as well as getting you up to date on your routine health maintenance needs. We believe that by being proactive, we can help you stay as healthy as possible.
How I thrive
First and foremost, my faith is important to me. I enjoy quiet time at my local church to pray and gather my thoughts. My family is also a major priority. I have been married for more than 20 years and have four daughters. After a busy day at work, I love coming home to be greeted by my daughters’ smiles, hugs, and contagious laughter. I enjoy outings to the park and the beach with my girls as well as taking walks with my husband. I also love reading and creating new ways to incorporate healthy foods into my family’s diet, such as starting the day off with a green juice.
