Welcome to my Web page.
I was born in the capital of Ukraine, beautiful Kiev. It is the city of chestnut trees and lilacs in the spring. Kiev was a wonderful place to grow up. I became a physician while working in a specialized cardiovascular hospital. In 1992, I moved to the United States. After completion of my residency program in New York, I was in private practice in Brooklyn. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2005. I feel privileged to be part of this great team of physicians and nurses whose first priority is the well-being of our patients.
Internists are specially trained to not only diagnose and treat disease, but to prevent the initial onset of those diseases by recognizing and controlling risk factors, such as high blood pressure and cholesterol. Having a personal physician is an important part of preventing sickness and promoting a long, healthy life. Regular checkups are key to detecting health conditions early, making them easier to treat. I hope to see you in my office regularly. My philosophy focuses on highly respectful, professional, and effective care for each patient. Every effort is made to carefully design treatment plans that are inclusive of the broad range and complexity of adult health and illness. As an internist, my practice involves the detection and treatment of cancer as well as problems of the digestive, respiratory, joint, vascular, internal organ, and cardiovascular systems. The special uniqueness of each patient is of utmost importance to me. Educating patients has always been a focus of mine.
When you feel well, life is wonderful. You can lead a more active lifestyle and cope better with the stresses of life we all experience. I eat healthful foods, play tennis, and ride my bicycle. As a result, I can enjoy every day to the fullest. I strongly believe that a wide smile is the best aspirin.
