About me
I am glad to have the opportunity to present my credentials to you and share other information about myself. It's very important that you feel comfortable with your personal physician, and I hope this page will help you start to get to know me.
Biography
I grew up in China and came to the United States after I finished medical school. I entered the graduate program at USC and obtained my PhD in neurobiology. After several years of postdoctoral research, I decided to switch from research to a clinical aspect, which I feel is more fulfilling. I was trained at the neurology program at UC Irvine and then did my neurophysiology fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. I have two beautiful children whom I love to spend time with.
About my practice
Medicine as a career is a very special opportunity to connect with and help people in a meaningful way, utilizing medical skills and knowledge, but also listening and responding to what people need. Being a physician allows people to share with me their innermost secrets, fears, and hopes. It is a privilege to help people understand what concerns them, translate what they may not grasp, facilitate getting them the appropriate evaluations, and communicate with them and their families. I feel very honored that people have entrusted me with their care and strive to treat them as I would treat my own family.
How I thrive
I firmly believe in the Kaiser Permanente philosophy of health in mind, body, and spirit and try to live it in my life every day. My family life is my major priority. I like to work hard when I am on duty. Off work, I love to spend time with my family and friends. I like hiking, music, movies, going to beach, trying different food, and traveling to different places to explore the world. To live life to the fullest is my philosophy.
