Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I am delighted to have this opportunity to introduce myself to you and describe my guiding principles as a hematologist/oncologist (a physician treating blood disease and cancer). After some time in private practice, I am glad to be a Kaiser Permanente physician and practice the kind of medicine I trained in during residency and fellowship here at Kaiser Permanente.
I was born and raised in Taiwan; my parents decided to pursue the American dream, and we found ourselves in San Gabriel Valley, where I went to middle and high school. In college, I majored in biomedical and electrical engineering, but the humanistic aspect of volunteering at a cancer hospital brought me to medicine, specifically oncology, where art and science of healing intersect. After medical school in lovely San Diego, I received further training in the northeast (in New Haven and New York City for residency and fellowship respectively), but I am glad to be back in lovely Southern California and to be close to my family.
About my practice
As a hematology/oncology physician, I believe in compassionate care that focuses on the whole person instead of just the disease process. Using the latest approved treatment strategies, I work with members closely to form care plans that suit individual needs, taking into account the healing properties of the human body.
How I thrive
Spending time with family and friends is very important to me. I also enjoy traveling and learning to be a better photographer to take pictures of places and people. I continue to strive for a healthy diet and to exercise; my sport is tennis, both as spectator and playing myself.
