Where I practice
Welcome to my Web Page. I appreciate the opportunity to introduce myself, and share a bit about my internal medicine practice.
I was born in Texas, and earned my medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. I did internal medicine residencies at the University of Maryland and the Boston Veterans Administration Hospital. Before joining Kaiser Permanente, I served on the faculty of Tufts Medical School, and had a solo private practice in Corpus Christi, Texas. I have practiced with the Kaiser Permanente Medical Group since 1990. I am married to a physician who practices urology, and we have two adult children, a son and a daughter. In addition to my clinical practice, I am the President Elect of the Orange County Medical Association and chair its Physicians of Excellence Committee. I also chair the Regional Credentials Committee for Kaiser Permanente in Southern California. Having raised an autistic son and cared for a mother with Alzheimer's disease, I often volunteer to raise funds for these two conditions.
About my practice
In my practice, I truly enjoy getting to know members. I have learned so much from them through the years. My administrators, receptionists, nurses, and medical assistants are like my family, and we work very hard together to make certain that our members feel they are treated like family as well. I really like my members to feel that they are the ones responsible for their health, and that I am their coach and consultant in the decision-making. I realize what a privilege it is to participate in their care and lives.
How I thrive
I enjoy spending time with my family and pets. We have two cats, and I find it very relaxing to lie on the bed with a purring cat. I am a member of a book club, and we readers have become very good friends through the years. The entire family loves to travel, and we are all big sports fans with a passion for the Anaheim Angels and Ducks. For exercise, I like to walk. I volunteer regularly to cook and serve for Mitzvah Meals, an organization that feeds the hungry in Orange County.
