About me
Welcome to my Web page! Thanks for the opportunity to introduce myself, and share a bit about my practice.
Biography
I grew up in Southern California, and cannot imagine living anywhere else! After I got married, I moved with my wife to Ohio, to attend medical school. I returned to California for residency training in otolaryngology at UCLA, and fellowship training in head and neck oncology and microvascular reconstruction at Loma Linda University. I am a proponent of Kaiser’s approach to total health. One must be healthy from a physical, mental, and spiritual standpoint. Although most of my adult life has been devoted to training to become a physician and surgeon, my wife and I have been blessed with three young sons. Needless to say, there is never a dull moment in our household!
About my practice
Although head and neck cancer is not as common as some other types of cancer, it is a terrible disease that often affects a patient’s physical appearance as well as important functions such as speech and swallowing. My practice includes all aspects of head and neck surgery, with a particular focus on cancer. I chose this specialty because helping patients overcome this very difficult disease is extremely gratifying. I also take special interest in thyroid and parathyroid surgery and reconstruction of head and neck defects after ablative cancer surgery.
How I thrive
I stay active by participating in all of the sports that my sons are involved with, from basketball to baseball. I also try to run several miles two to three times a week. My family and my faith keep me grounded so I can focus my efforts on providing excellent care for my patients.
