About me
Welcome! I go by Dr. Pfeil (pronounced "File") or Dr. Claudia. I'm very happy to present some of my credentials with you and share other information about myself. It's very important that you feel comfortable with your personal physician, and I hope this page will help you get to know me.
Biography
My parents originally moved to the US from Europe, and I was fortunate to grow up in the Washington, DC, area. I moved from the East Coast to Los Angeles to complete my combined residency training in internal medicine and pediatrics at Cedars-Sinai Hospital, and I've called Southern California my home ever since. After spending the early part of my career working as a lead physician in a very busy urgent care center (while raising 2 children), I've transitioned to the very fulfilling career as a primary care physician with a focus on caring for you and your family members. While I'm trained in pediatrics and enjoy caring for young kids very much, my focus and passion now is caring for adults 18 years and older. Women's health and chronic disease management are some of my interests.
About my practice
My philosophy in treating members is treating the whole person in a respectful, kind and caring fashion, as I would treat my own family members. Initially when I meet new members, I take a detailed and thorough approach to better understand you and your health care needs, so that I can provide high-quality medical care and guide you to maintaining or achieving healthy goals. I strive to partner with members in medical decision-making whenever possible to support a healthy lifestyle, promote preventive care, and ideally manage acute and complex chronic conditions with the goal of getting you to feel better and live a healthier life.
How I thrive
Work-life balance is very important to me and helps me remain calm, thoughtful, and focused with members and also present and engaged with my family. To maintain the balance, I love the outdoors, hiking, and gardening. I also enjoy working out regularly at the gym. I do enjoy cooking and love to make delicious and healthy meals for my family. As a lifelong learner, I also like to take time to keep up with medical literature and participate in medical education classes and find learning rewarding and fulfilling. I also look forward to doing more traveling in the near future! Cheers to you and your good health. I look forward to meeting you.
