About me

Hello, I'm Dr. Cindy Njemanze! I’m excited to share a bit about myself with you. It's essential to feel at ease with your personal physician, and I hope this page gives you a better sense of who I am and how I can support your health and well-being.

Biography

I'm the child of Nigerian immigrants and the first generation of my family raised in the United States. I grew up in Long Beach and am fluent in basic Spanish while understanding Igbo, my Nigerian dialect. My passion for medicine stems from a deep desire to help others achieve health and wholeness, ensuring they have the best chance to reach their potential and accomplish their goals. I believe that true wholeness includes not only physical health but also mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

At Kaiser Permanente, I contribute to pediatric care through my role on the pediatric Quality Improvement (QI) Peer Review Committee at Kaiser Permanente’s South Bay Medical Center. I’m also involved in the Hippocrates Circle Program, where I mentor middle school students from underserved communities with an interest in medicine and the sciences.

Outside of work, I am actively engaged in my church in Inglewood, California, where I serve as an executive member of the women’s group. Through this role, not only do I care for the well-being of women who are in need, but I also help organize community outreach events for the homeless and other marginalized populations. Additionally, I am a member of the Owerri Cultural Union of Southern California, which pursues the educational, economic, cultural, and social advancement of communities in California and abroad in Nigeria. I am also a member of the Association of Nigerian Physicians Abroad, which coordinates outreach and medical missions to vulnerable communities in Nigeria.

Before embarking on my medical career, I played Division 1 basketball in college and competed overseas in Germany. These experiences have shaped my journey and continue to inspire my commitment to both community service and professional growth.

About my practice

I chose pediatrics because working with children is a profound joy for me. Their innate curiosity, honesty, and optimism inspire me every day. It is a true honor to witness their growth and development, from infancy through adolescence, and to support their health so they can achieve their goals and reach their full potential. I find immense gratitude in caring for and interacting with children, particularly the younger ones, and I deeply value the opportunity to partner with and guide parents through their childrearing journey.

How I thrive

I thrive by engaging in daily prayer and meditation, which keeps me grounded and provides a healthy perspective on life. Regular exercise, including walking and running, is an essential part of my routine, and I also enjoy watching Nollywood movies. My greatest happiness comes from spending quality time with my husband and children, and I take immense pride in watching them excel in their academics, sports, and other endeavors. I have a deep passion for medical missions in Africa, particularly Nigeria, and I aspire to help plan, coordinate, and participate in medical mission trips there, focusing on health education and disease prevention.
