About me
Welcome! I am Dr. Christopher Mullin. I am thankful for the opportunity to partner with you to improve and promote your health. I practice medicine with a prevention mind-set and a focus on the pillars of health: exercise, diet, stress reduction, and sleep.
Biography
I was born and raised in San Diego and attended San Diego State University for a degree in kinesiology - physical therapy. During this time, I did an athletic trainer internship with the Washington Nationals. I attended medical school at Midwestern University in Arizona and did family medicine residency at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton and served in the US Navy as a physician.
About my practice
I practice medicine with an emphasis on finding a balanced life and focus on exercise, diet, stress reduction, and sleep. I ask that you come to me willing to work and improve your health. We live in a world where exercise is often seen as a chore rather than a daily routine. Almost all of us need to have a more plant-based diet and more fiber. We often stress too much and do not get enough quality sleep. The pillars of health are a way to balance your health, but they take a lot of effort and planning.
How I thrive
I keep my own balance in life by exercising most every day or playing tennis with my 2 daughters. I strive to eat mostly plant-based or Mediterranean diet and ensure I have a good outlet for my stress, and I pay attention to sleeping 7 hours a night.
I love to sign up for an ultra-marathon as a way to keep me focused and training day to day. I have finished the San Diego 100-miler and the Rio Del Lago 100-miler among many other ultras. (Yes, 100 miles, on foot without sleeping.) Trail running gives me the joy of nature and a way to free the mind.
