Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself and tell you about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of my wonderful colleagues and our members, and I look forward to working with you to care for your health.
I grew up in San Diego and completed medical school and residency training at UCLA. I became involved in international medicine for the first time in medical school, and it was a life-changing experience. I worked in Nicaragua, Honduras, Ecuador, Mexico, and Malawi. Those experiences led me to a full-time opportunity in Africa, where I spent two and a half years working at a pediatric HIV clinic in Botswana before returning to San Diego in 2008. I learned a lot about caring for children with limited resources. I feel that my experiences overseas made me a better pediatrician back here at home.
About my practice
I enjoy working with all age groups of children, from newborns to teenagers. I take pride in listening to members as they describe their needs and helping to address both their immediate concerns and any underlying factors that might have an impact on their health. I feel that healthy living and preventive care are the best ways to stay healthy.
How I thrive
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also love to exercise, whether I am running, working out at the gym, hiking, or playing soccer. In addition, I will always have a special love for international travel.
