About me
Welcome! Bienvenidos! I'm pleased to take this opportunity to welcome you to Kaiser Permanente and to introduce myself. I'm fortunate to work in my community with a supportive team of colleagues and great members. I look forward to working with you and your family to care for your health.
Biography
I was born and raised in National City, where I grew up as a Kaiser Permanente member. I moved to Ohio for medical school but knew I wanted to come back to San Diego to practice medicine. I feel blessed to have the support of my family and hope I can be a role model for others within my community. I participate in the Hippocrates Circle—a group that reaches out to junior high school students and introduces them to career opportunities in medicine. I've also helped conduct local high school sports physical exams—including at my alma mater Sweetwater High School.
About my practice
Our team in the Otay Mesa Medical Offices includes physicians, nurses, and other health professionals who provide compassionate care to a diverse group of people who speak many different languages. I feel that preventive care and healthy living are the best ways to stay healthy. My philosophy is to treat the person, not just the symptoms. My approach looks at the body as a whole, taking into consideration external factors affecting the health of the member—mind, body, and spirit.
How I thrive
Balancing work, family, and life is always difficult. However, this is a very crucial part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. In my life, it's important to make time for family, exercise, and activities outside of work. I enjoy family outings to Chargers, Padres, and Xolos games, as well as spending time exploring our beautiful city with my wife and two children. I stay active by going to the park with my kids, playing soccer, and occasionally bike riding—each of which help me stay healthy.
