Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I would like to take this opportunity share some information about both my work and personal life. Hopefully I can provide a little insight into who I am and why I enjoy being a part of the Kaiser Permanente organization.
I am originally from Saint Louis, Missouri, and most of my extended family still lives in the area. After spending time in a few different locations, I returned to Saint Louis for residency, where I met my lovely wife. We happened to have grown up a few miles from each other but never met until our late twenties, after we had each lived in different places around the country. We spent a few years in Chicago and now live in San Diego.
About my practice
I currently work as a hospitalist physician, providing internal medicine care to members who are acutely ill and admitted to the hospital for a variety of conditions. While I may only work in partnership with members during their inpatient stay, I am dedicated to providing team-based care to address all medical and social issues in order to provide a seamless transition out of the hospital and with the primary care outpatient team. In addition, I emphasize holistic care, addressing health of the mind, body, and spirit. I work very hard to develop relationships with members and help them to understand all aspects of their conditions, care, and therapies.
How I thrive
I try to stay healthy by balancing work, family, friends, exercise, and relaxation. My wife and I love activities such as running, camping, fishing, golfing, and skiing, and we bring our dog with us any chance we get. We also enjoy cooking and trying any and all types of cuisine offered around the city.
My wife and I try to exercise almost every day, often running outside with our dog. Fresh air and time away from technology can be so rejuvenating. Even during strenuous activities, I always take time to admire the beauty of nature when I am outside. In addition, I cherish my strong relationships with family and friends, who provide invaluable support and perspective whenever needed. Lastly, and most importantly, my wife and I always find time to spend together, and we work as a team to keep up with life!
