Where I practice
Welcome. Finding a physician who is right for you can be a challenge. This Web site is designed to try and give you more information about me so the process of finding a doctor is easier.
I am originally from Westchester, New York, and spent most of my life living in the Northeast. I studied at Harvard College in Boston for my undergraduate work and subsequently went to the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia for medical school and general internal medicine residency. After almost three decades of freezing cold winters, I decided to move to sunny San Diego, where I completed my pulmonary and critical care fellowship training at UC San Diego. I now have the privilege of working at Kaiser Permanente.
About my practice
In my pulmonary practice, I take care of all general pulmonary problems. This allows me to see a great diversity of members with a variety of conditions. I practice in the outpatient clinic in the Kaiser Permanente San Marcos Medical Offices about four days a week. Every month, I spend one week taking care of members in the intensive care unit. I believe the keys to a good physician-patient relationship are trust and honesty. That is at the heart of all my interactions with members and their families. The only way that I can provide my members the care they deserve is if there is open communication, and this can only occur with trust that is built over time.
How I thrive
Living a healthy life is the key to staying well. A healthy lifestyle is one that includes eating right, exercising, and finding happiness. I believe that everyone should be engaged in some form of exercise at least three or four times a week. For myself, I exercise five times a week at the gym and run through Balboa Park at least three times a week. Finding hobbies that make you happy and bring joy is also very important to healthy living. No one is ever "too old" or "too sick" to start living a healthy lifestyle.
