About me

My name is Dr. Anh Pham, and I’m board certified in hematology, internal medicine, and medical oncology. I practice medical oncology at Kaiser Permanente in San Bernardino, where I specialize in the care of members with lung cancer.

Caring for individuals and families facing a cancer diagnosis is a true privilege. I believe deeply in providing compassionate, comprehensive care that is grounded in the latest science, but also centered on connection, communication, and trust. My goal is to walk alongside you through every step of your journey, helping you feel informed, supported, and never alone.

Biography

I’m a proud Southern California native. After earning my undergraduate degree in biology from Stanford University, I attended Harvard Medical School, where I received the Sellards Traveling Research Fellowship and the HMS Presidential Scholars Public Service Initiative Award. I returned to Stanford for my residency in internal medicine, followed by fellowship training in hematology/oncology at City of Hope and Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where I completed the Clinical Investigator Track.

About my practice

My Cancer Subspecialty

While I care for members with a wide range of cancers and blood disorders, my primary focus is thoracic oncology, which includes lung cancer and other cancers of the chest. This is a rapidly evolving field, and I am committed to staying at the forefront of treatment advances, diagnostics, and clinical trials.

Whether it’s navigating newly approved therapies or tailoring care to your unique situation, I’m here to help guide you through your treatment options with clarity and compassion. I also work closely with your care team, including surgery, radiation, and palliative care, to make sure your care is well coordinated and personalized to your needs.

National Expertise and Multidisciplinary Teams

In addition to caring for members, I also serve in several leadership roles that help shape cancer care at the regional and national level. I am proud to serve as the National Thoracic Oncology physician co-chair for Kaiser Permanente and as the Southern California Regional Thoracic Oncology physician lead.

As part of this work, I direct our multidisciplinary Thoracic Malignancy Tumor Board, where each member’s case is reviewed by a team of specialists from surgery, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, and medical oncology. Together, we ensure that every care plan reflects an up-to-date approach that is based on evidence and current research and is tailored to the individual needs of each member.

With a keen interest in molecular testing and genomics in thoracic oncology, I also contribute as a moderator for the Molecular Tumor Board and serve as a core member of the Molecular Genomics Technology Committee. I also represent Kaiser Permanente on the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer Global Multidisciplinary Practice Standards Committee, where we work with international experts to establish best practices in lung cancer care.

Research and Clinical Trials

I began my journey in oncology through the clinical investigator training program during my fellowship, and I remain active in research today. I am a sub-investigator with the National Cancer Institute’s Community Oncology Program, and I participate in national clinical trials through organizations such as:

  • SWOG
  • NSABP (National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project)
  • NRG Oncology
  • Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology

Through my involvement with the Southern California Regional Lung Oncology Committee, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate on the analysis of new cancer therapies. Several of these findings have helped shape our National Kaiser Permanente Oncology Care Pathways, bringing the latest treatments to members faster, safely, and effectively.

How I thrive

When I’m not working, my greatest joy is spending time with my wife and family. We love traveling, hiking, and spending time outdoors. I also enjoy playing basketball and watching sports whenever I can.
