Where I practice
Welcome to my webpage. I'm happy to have the opportunity to introduce myself to you and I hope that you find this information helpful and fun.
My interest in medicine began during my childhood, as a music therapist at Children's Hospital in San Diego. During college, I continued my passion for music as a piano performance major while satisfying my medical interests working as a hospital volunteer and researching music and medicine in an honors thesis. In 2004, I became a first generation college graduate and moved to Philadelphia to attend a post-baccalaureate program at the University of Pennsylvania. I thoroughly enjoyed working within the community and helping disadvantaged populations, whether teaching ESL to immigrants, assisting with local health fairs, or flying to Mexico or Guatemala to provide needed health care. I completed medical school at Western University in Pomona and went on to Family Medicine residency at Kaiser Permanente Orange County. I was honored to receive the Goldsmith scholarship award and serve as chief resident during residency.
About my practice
As a Family Medicine physician, I aim to be a well-rounded individual, who at times must act as a dermatologist, pediatrician, or even a geriatrician; yet still know when to make the appropriate consultation when something is outside my scope of practice. Whether I am seeing patients in an underserved rural town in Mexico or in a large, populous city like Orange County, I am excited to be working in a specialty where I have the honor of treating entire families from infants to adults. I aim to be an advocate for all patients, to relieve suffering, apply and advance scientific knowledge, and uphold human dignity. I have a special interest in preventative health measures, nutrition, pediatrics, and women's health. I enjoy continuously learning and applying evidence-based medicine.I am a provider that is knowledgeable and sensitive to the needs of members with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
How I thrive
I believe that happiness = health. I recharge daily with my family - I am married with 2 beautiful children. I enjoy exercising outdoors, visiting gardens, sitting on the beach and listening to the waves crash on the shore while watching my husband surf, reading (both children and adult books), playing piano, drawing/painting/writing, and hosting events with family and close friends. I enjoy being busy, but also try to ensure I have a few quiet moments to myself to recharge as well.
