About me
My name is Dr. Amy Steinhoff, and I am a board-certified orthopedic surgeon. My orthopedic focus is total joint reconstruction, and I specialize in hip and knee replacements. I have been a member of the Kaiser Permanente Orthopedic Surgery Department since 2012.
Biography
I attended college at USC and completed medical school at UCLA. Later, I completed my orthopedic residency at UC Irvine and a fellowship in hip and knee replacement at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla. Today, I am a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
I feel I have a wonderful career because I can help people feel better. In fact, our team developed a unique protocol to make sure our members have a straightforward pathway to successful surgery and recovery. I will always do my very best to ensure members have the a high-quality standard of care for their treatment.
About my practice
With a focus in hip and knee replacements, my treatment philosophy is conservative. I use implants that have a proven track record of success. My goal is to allow people to be able to do the activities that make their lives enjoyable, whether that is walking, golf, surfing, or even skiing.
How I thrive
San Diego is our beloved home, where my husband, our 2 children, our Great Dane, and I thrive. It's a place we wholeheartedly believe to be the best on Earth.
Outside of my professional endeavors, I cherish moments spent with my family, indulging in the joys of cooking together and finding serenity through yoga. Yoga serves as both a source of grounding and a fulfilling workout, allowing me to maintain balance amid life's demands.
Overall, my philosophy revolves around seeking positivity and embracing enjoyment in every aspect of life. It's a constant reminder to savor the present and cultivate happiness in all that I do.
