About me

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. I believe that feeling comfortable and understood is an important part of your care, and I hope this page helps you get to know me a little better before we meet. My goal is to create a supportive, compassionate space where you feel heard, respected, and confident in your healthcare decisions.

Biography

I grew up in Northern California as the oldest of 5 children, a role that taught me the value of responsibility, connection, and caring for others. I also developed a deep love for ballet, dancing for more than 20 years — an experience that shaped my appreciation for discipline, strength, and balance, both in life and in medicine. I married my high school sweetheart, a Navy rescue swimmer, whose service initially brought us to San Diego. While I completed my undergraduate studies at UC San Diego, we quickly fell in love with sunny San Diego and knew it would always feel like home.

During college, I worked as an EMT in the emergency department as well as a women's student health advocate, and I participated in multiple medical missions serving underserved communities in Mexico, as well as in Kenya and Tanzania. These experiences were transformative and sparked my lifelong passion for women’s health and caring for patients across all stages of life.

I completed medical school in New York and was thrilled to return to UC San Diego for residency, where my family and I have found an incredible community. Today, I am also the proud parent of 4 amazing children who truly light up my world and continue to inspire my commitment to compassionate, member-centered care.

About my practice

My approach to medicine is rooted in the belief that every person is unique, and that healthcare should reflect the whole individual — not just a diagnosis or a single concern. I strive to truly understand each member’s medical history, lifestyle, goals, and values so that I can provide thoughtful, personalized care tailored to their needs.

I am a strong believer in preventive medicine and in empowering members to take an active role in their health. A healthy lifestyle — including balanced nutrition, regular exercise, stress reduction, and attention to both mental and physical well-being — is central to how I practice. I view the mind and body as deeply connected, and I believe caring for both is essential to feeling your best and strongest.

I see the member-physician relationship as a partnership. My goal is to work collaboratively with you, providing education, guidance, and support so that together we can make informed decisions and help you feel confident in your care. I want to be your advocate — someone you can trust to listen, support you, and walk alongside you through every stage of life.

I appreciate the team-based approach that Kaiser Permanente provides. Practicing both obstetrics and gynecology allows me to care for women across all phases of life, from adolescence through the reproductive years and into postmenopause. It is a privilege to support members through some of life’s most important moments, and I am deeply committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care every step of the way.

How I thrive

I thrive by prioritizing balance, movement, and meaningful time with my husband and our 4 children, and staying closely connected to our community. Staying active is a cornerstone of my life and wellness, and I have been a practicing yogi for many years. You might find me at the front of a yoga sculpt class cheering others on, training for a marathon, participating in triathlons, or enjoying hiking, swimming, biking, dancing — really, anything that gets my heart rate up and brings joy!

I love modeling healthy habits for my children and inviting them to be part of an active lifestyle. My twins often join me for morning yoga, and my son proudly completed the Mission Bay Triathlon with me this past year. Being present for my kids — whether at soccer and baseball games, school events, or everyday moments — is incredibly important to me.

I believe that a balanced, healthy life includes movement, connection, joy, and showing up fully — and I strive to bring that same energy and intention to both my personal life and my medical practice.
