About me
I am glad to have the opportunity to share some information about me. Urgent care is a place you usually visit when you need care for things that are not life threatening but happen unannounced. Since you usually don’t have much time to get to know your urgent care doctor, I hope this page will help you get to know me and feel comfortable should you need to visit the urgent care department.
Biography
I came to the US when I was 23, and the struggles that I went through make me very appreciative of where I am today. I did my residency at University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria. During my second year, I was offered a position to work at a newly opened urgent care center. At that time, I was doing my emergency room rotations and enjoying them. Since then, working in urgent care has been something that I have always cherished. In 2009, I met my wife, who at that time was living in Northern California. It took her 7 long years of convincing for me to move to sunny California. I have a son who has autism, and his healthcare gave me opportunity to witness the Kaiser Permanente team approach and made me fall in love with Kaiser Permanente in Kern county.
About my practice
When I started working in urgent care, the field was still in its infancy. I have seen it grow and have witnessed the different models and care levels that can be provided. Having a primary care physician that you respect, and trust is very important, as is knowing which emergency room to go to when you need care for a life-threatening situation. However, not all problems can wait for an appointment or need a visit to the emergency room, and urgent care fills a very important need. My goal with every member is to make a personal connection and make sure they feel that I am there for them and will help them get the care that they need. There is nothing more satisfying than to see a member who had come in anxious about their health leave with a happy smile on their face.
How I thrive
I believe a balanced life is something that enables you to thrive and keeps you healthy. Spending time with my family is very important to me. Traveling and being a foodie are passions I share with my wife. Because I grew up overseas, cricket has always been another of my passions, and movies and video games give me an escape that always keeps me young at heart and excited about the future.
