About me

Hello, and welcome to my Web page. I appreciate your interest in me and my practice.

Biography

I am a medical graduate of Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York. I completed a residency in Phoenix, AZ, as well as a medical rotation in Oaxaca, Mexico. I came to the U.S. from Leningrad, USSR in 1990 at the age of 12, and am fluent in Russian. I also have studied Spanish and used it during my training and work in community clinics in Los Angeles. I have a family of my own. My mother and aunt are dentists in Altadena and Sunland, respectively. My grandmother was also a dentist.

About my practice

Unfortunately, our time in the clinic is limited, which means you have to come to appointments prepared with a list of your medications and questions. You need to know about your medical care to avoid unnecessary re-testing or ineffective treatments that have been tried before. Know your medications: including generic name, dose, frequency and why you are taking it. Create a wallet size list of your medications, and your medical conditions and carry it with you all the time. If you receive care outside of Kaiser Permanente, please request your medical records (including labs, imaging studies and doctor's report) prior to leaving that facility. I am passionate about preventive measures but also realize that quality of life is more important than quantity. Hence, I encourage people over 65 years of age or those who have terminal disease to discuss their end-of-life wishes for their medical care with their spokesperson and families. Advanced discussions of your preferences will make it easier for your family to accept and follow your wishes.

How I thrive

I try to walk as much as possible, play volleyball, tennis and table tennis, bicycle, ski, read and attend theater. My motto is it's better to play sports than to watch them.
