You can complete your COVID-19 test at any of the Kaiser Permanente locations listed below. For the latest facts on testing and vaccination, visit kp.org/covid.
 

Please follow these steps before coming in for your test:

  • Occasionally, PCR tests may be recommended and require an order to be placed by your doctor or care team before you come in.
  • For most patients, home antigen testing is appropriate and easily obtained. Using your kp.org account, you may be able to order home antigen tests from us at no cost and have them delivered to your home by mail. The tests will usually arrive within 3 to 4 business days. You can also pick up home antigen tests at any pharmacy.
  • Be sure to read the “Special Instructions” for your location, as some locations are by appointment only.
  • If you’re taking a saliva test, please don’t eat, drink, smoke, or chew gum 30 minutes before your test.

Test results are available usually within 24 hours on kp.org, on the Kaiser Permanente app, or by calling 1-888-4KP-TEST (1-888-457-8378).

Where can I get tested?

Kaiser Permanente provides convenient diagnostic testing for COVID-19 for our members. Testing is available at Kaiser Permanente locations throughout Southern California. Test results are usually available within 24 hours and are automatically saved to your electronic health record. That means your care team knows you’ve been tested and can reach out to you with the necessary information, depending on your test results.
 

Testing outside of Kaiser Permanente

When possible, we recommend members receive no-cost tests from Kaiser Permanente so that your care team knows you’ve been tested and can reach out to you with necessary information if you have COVID-19.

With the exception of Medicare Advantage and most self-funded plans, if you get tested by an out-of-network provider, you may be able to get up to half the cost reimbursed. If the tests are given as part of urgent or emergency care, you may be eligible for full reimbursement.

To submit a claim for reimbursement:

  • Visit kp.org/billing.
  • Go to the “Understand your costs” section.
  • Click “Submit a claim.”

The claim must include an itemized purchase receipt with the test name, the purchase date, the price, and the number of tests. Please follow the instructions you get with your test result about isolation and physical distancing. If you need care guidance, call our 24/7 advice line.
