Kaiser Permanente received a strike notice from UNAC/UHCP

The United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals (UNAC/UHCP) has issued notice for a strike beginning Monday, January 26, at some of our facilities in Southern California. A strike notice doesn’t mean a strike will happen.

If a strike does happen, our hospitals and medical offices will stay open. Some pharmacies would close, so please pick up any prescriptions before January 26. We have robust plans in place to ensure continued care.

Appointments during a strike

We may need to reschedule some nonurgent appointments and elective surgeries. If you have an appointment scheduled on a possible strike date, please don't cancel or reschedule. We’ll contact you if we have to reschedule your appointment.

Your care is our priority. We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

How to get prescriptions

During a strike, some of our pharmacies will have to close. The most convenient way to fill your prescription is through our mail-order pharmacy.

Mail-order pharmacy

We encourage you to sign up for prescription delivery on kp.org/pharmacy or the Kaiser Permanente app. Estimated delivery times based on recent mail trends are on kp.org. Typically, you should receive your medications in about 3 to 5 days. There's no cost for shipping.

Early prescription pickup

You may also go to a Kaiser Permanente pharmacy before January 26. Please be sure to pick up any prescriptions you may have already filled before then.

Open pharmacies during a strike

After January 26, open pharmacies will be listed on kp.org. We’ve made extensive preparations to provide pharmacy services. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this strike activity may cause.
