A labor strike is underway at Kaiser Permanente

United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals (UNAC/UHCP) are conducting an open-ended strike at some of our facilities in Southern California.

Your care and well-being remain central to everything we do. Our hospitals, medical offices, and all of our labs are open, and you can rely on us for the high-quality care you deserve. We’ve put strong plans in place to ensure your care continues without interruption. Thank you for your understanding, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Skip the wait, get virtual care in as little as 2 hours

Cold and flu season is here. Our Urgent Care and Emergency Departments are currently experiencing longer-than-usual wait times. Virtual care is safe and easy. To see if it’s right for you, view the options on kp.org/getcare.

Appointments during the strike

If you have an appointment scheduled during the strike, please don't cancel or reschedule. We’ll contact you in advance if your appointment or services need to be rescheduled. To make an appointment, visit kp.org/getcare, use the KP app, or contact Member Services.

How to get prescriptions

Some of our pharmacies are closed during the strike. Our open pharmacies may be operating during adjusted hours, or experiencing wait times that are longer than usual. You can avoid the wait and get non-urgent and refill prescriptions using our mail-order pharmacy. For urgent prescriptions, please visit any open Kaiser Permanente pharmacy.

Open pharmacies during a strike

For a list of open pharmacies and current operating hours, please visit kp.org/SCALOpenPharmacies. You may also search by ZIP code to find open pharmacies near you by visiting kp.org/locations. We’ve made extensive preparations to provide pharmacy services. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this strike activity may cause.

Mail-order pharmacy

We encourage you to choose mail-order delivery on kp.org/pharmacy or the Kaiser Permanente app. Estimated delivery times based on recent mail trends are on kp.org. Typically, you should receive your medications in about 3 to 5 days. There's no cost for shipping.
