About me

I grew up in California in a family of physicians and had the chance from a young age to see the rewards and responsibilities of a career in medicine. I, too, became interested in this path, which ultimately took me to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for school. Observations and discussions with my mentors there convinced me of the special relationships that Family Medicine physicians have with their patients. These influences led me to practice Family Medicine for more than a decade with a focus in Geriatric Care. During that time, I especially enjoyed providing acute care, and eventually I transitioned to working Urgent Care, which I did for the next 16 years.

About my practice

Throughout my career, I have always believed that my ear is as important as my expertise in providing the highest quality care. I can often tell everything I need to know about members just by listening to their stories. Even for a short visit, this is crucial. I have always seen my practice in Urgent Care as "detective work," using clues that members give me to arrive at the appropriate conclusion. I can treat people of most ages but retain a particular interest in working with older patients.

How I thrive

Over many years, the most consistent source of satisfaction in my life, along with watching my children grow, has been music. I have eclectic taste in music, but during most of my free time I enjoy it in some form—when I am stressed, it is music that relaxes me best. I am fortunate that my children are still actively involved in music as adults, and I have always eagerly anticipated their performances, from elementary school to college and beyond. I have long been active in supporting our local high school band programs and have worked to encourage music education in local schools.
