About me

Originally from the suburbs of Detroit, I have slowly been making my way out west and feel fortunate to have landed in Portland with Kaiser Permanente. After completing undergraduate studies at Northwestern University, I received my MD/MPH at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, where I met my now husband, a sports orthopedic surgeon who also works at Kaiser Permanente. We moved back to my home state to complete our respective residencies at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, after which I served as chief resident in pediatrics for an additional year. Following that, I served as a clinical instructor in general pediatrics at the University of Michigan, and then at Ravenswood Family Health Center, a federally qualified health center in East Palo Alto, California.

About my practice

I practice within the general pediatrics department and have a special interest in child advocacy and caring for underserved populations. I believe in joint decision-making with my patients and their caregivers, while adhering to high quality, compassionate, evidence-based medicine. I do follow the immunization schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. I love being a pediatrician for the long-term relationships it affords and the opportunity to practice preventive care. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a child grow from a newborn to an adolescent and partaking in his or her physical and emotional health through acute illnesses and periods of wellness. I love that every day brings something new.

How I thrive

I value quality time with my husband and our growing family. I am an avid photographer and feel rejuvenated after a morning hike and photography session on one of Oregon's many scenic trails, or after photographing friends and their children. On weekends, you can find me cooking, baking, long-distance running, curling up with a good book, and eating my way through Portland's thriving food scene.

Referrals to affiliated community physicians/providers in Oregon and Washington

Affiliated community physicians/providers are not part of the NWPMG (Northwest Permanente Medical Group). They are physicians/providers credentialed by Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest and/or who have a contract with the NWPMG.

If your NWPMG physician decides that you require covered services not available internally from an NWPMG physician, he or she may refer you to an affiliated community physician/provider. You must have a written, authorized referral from Kaiser Permanente in order to receive a covered service from an affiliated community physician/provider.

Referrals to affiliated community dentists in Oregon and Washington

Affiliated community dentists are not part of PDA (Permanente Dental Associates). They are dentists credentialed by PDA for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest, and they have a contract with PDA.

If your PDA dentist decides that you require covered services not available internally from a PDA dentist, he or she may refer you to an affiliated community dentist. You must have a written, authorized referral from Kaiser Permanente in order to receive a covered service from an affiliated community dentist.
