My gender: Female
Yes, I'm accepting new patients.
I grew up in the Bay Area and then lived in Southern California during college and medical school. During my first exposure to pediatrics as a medical student, I had so much fun taking care of children and families that I couldn't imagine doing anything else. I met and married my husband while in medical school, and we moved to Portland for my residency training at Doernbecher Children's Hospital and Oregon Health & Science University. We both fell in love with the Pacific Northwest and are so happy now to be raising our children in this beautiful place.
I think that the best part about being a pediatrician is the opportunity to develop longstanding relationships with families. I enjoy partnering with children and parents to help everyone thrive! My experience parenting my own 2 children has helped me appreciate the degree to which every child and every family is unique, and that what may work for one family or child may not work for another. In addition to my practice as a clinic-based pediatrician, taking care of both well and ill children of all ages, I am also part of Kaiser Permanente's pediatric hospitalist team, treating children who are admitted to Doernbecher Children's Hospital and also participating in medical student and pediatric resident education.
As the mother of young children, I have found that keeping a sense of humor is one of the best things I can do for myself! Sleep helps, too, and I do try to prioritize this. I also love the outdoors, and when not in clinic or at the hospital, I can usually be found kicking a soccer ball around with my son, running with my daughter in the jogging stroller, or working in our garden. Finally, when time permits, I enjoy yoga, photography, and cooking with my husband for friends and family.
