I was born and raised in the Willamette Valley, and it is a great pleasure for me to return and give back to the community here. I grew up in a family of veterinarians, which taught me compassion, strength, and a love for the field of medicine. I have gained a breadth of knowledge and experiences through my travels around the world, in addition to medical school in the Caribbean and New York City. It is rewarding not only to help those in need but to share the insights and learning that I’ve gained along the way.
I take care of hospitalized Kaiser Permanente members at Salem Health Hospital. My philosophy of treating patients as whole individuals and establishing a bond and trust with them has led to my success as a physician. I understand that a hospitalization can be a difficult time for members and their families. Effectively communicating with them is of the utmost importance to me. I believe that patients who are fully educated and informed about their illnesses are able to make the most autonomous informed decisions.
I enjoy anything that involves the outdoors. In spring and summer I love to hike, fish, and camp, and during the fall and winter I enjoy hunting and snowboarding. I love to travel with my girlfriend and our dog; a visit to the Canadian Rockies was one such trip. "Practice what you preach" has been the key to happiness and fulfillment in my life. As I treat each patient as a whole, I do so with myself through a physical, mental, and spiritual approach. One of my favorite stress relievers is exercise, and I enjoy weightlifting, biking, and other activities. I have volunteered with multiple organizations including some that focus on underserved, rural populations in developing nations.
