About me
I grew up among the avocado and orange fields of Southern California and went to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) for my degree in biology. My interest in medicine began as a volunteer working at the hospital at UCLA and interacting with families during brief but critical moments in their lives. I enjoyed learning about language and culture from the diverse populations in Los Angeles and explored this more as I traveled to Central and South America as a young adult. I went to medical school in San Francisco and then traveled north to finish my family medicine training at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. I worked for 20 years for the Multnomah County Health Department, serving diverse populations in all stages of life. I moved to Kaiser Permanente in 2020, influenced by its dedication to providing excellent evidence-based medicine and preventive health care to members and its mission to improve the health of local communities.
About my practice
I welcome patients of all ages, backgrounds, and languages. I care for infants and children and for folks who are in their years of wisdom. I also have a particular interest in women’s health and caring for women during pregnancy. Preventive care for all and ongoing care of diabetes, asthma, and heart disease are an important part of my practice. I am happy to manage Nexplanons and IUDs. My priority is to listen and respect and to help find practical solutions to address medical issues in a nonjudgmental way that works for each individual.
How I thrive
I thrive by taking full advantage of the Pacific Northwest outdoors. I love to camp, hike, and garden. For exercise, I swim, run/walk, bike, and do yoga. On rainy days, I read science fiction/fantasy books and cook spicy food. My biggest supporters are my husband, who also works in health care, and my teenage daughter, an avid rock climber. We have a terrier dog, Lulu, and backyard chickens.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other KFHP (Kaiser Foundation Health Plan) products and lines of business. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans’ contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of members’ KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.

Referrals to affiliated community physicians/providers in Oregon and Washington
Affiliated community physicians/providers are not part of the NWPMG (Northwest Permanente Medical Group). They are physicians/providers credentialed by Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest and/or who have a contract with the NWPMG.
If your NWPMG physician decides that you require covered services not available internally from an NWPMG physician, he or she may refer you to an affiliated community physician/provider. You must have a written, authorized referral from Kaiser Permanente in order to receive a covered service from an affiliated community physician/provider.
Referrals to affiliated community dentists in Oregon and Washington
Affiliated community dentists are not part of PDA (Permanente Dental Associates). They are dentists credentialed by PDA for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest, and they have a contract with PDA.
If your PDA dentist decides that you require covered services not available internally from a PDA dentist, he or she may refer you to an affiliated community dentist. You must have a written, authorized referral from Kaiser Permanente in order to receive a covered service from an affiliated community dentist.
