About me
Biography
I was born in, raised in, and have lived my entire life in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Portland has been my home for the last 9ish years. I have been engaged in helping people, at various levels, for 13 years, through a number of different avenues, including pastoral leadership, adolescent residential treatment, foster care support, and psychiatric emergency services. I have worked in a counseling capacity within a youth residential setting, community mental health settings, as well as a college counseling center. I completed my undergraduate studies at Multnomah University and earned my Master of Arts in Counseling from Western Seminary.

About my practice
I approach counseling as a relational and collaborative endeavor, recognizing that the relationship between client and therapist is the most important ingredient to successful growth and change in the counseling process. I strive to respect the dignity of each person that I work with by creating a safe space characterized by compassion and acceptance. This space of non-judgment allows for curiosity and courage to flourish, as well as empowerment of the client's own inner resources, strengths, and resilience to overcome whatever is hindering them to live a rich and meaningful life. I take an integrated approach that pulls from several different theories and approaches to therapy, but primarily practice from a theoretical framework that is influenced by Person-Centered Theory, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Internal Family Systems, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Population specialties: early adulthood, adolescents, and individuals seeking care for both mental health and substance use concerns.

Areas of focus: I have experience working with adolescents, college age students, and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, transitions, adjustment, addiction, and relationship issues. I have experience working within a brief therapy modality to provide relief of acute symptoms, as well as deeper processing and unburdening work.
How I thrive
When I am not engaged in work I enjoy running, cycling, playing board games, watching sitcoms, exploring new places to eat, and spending time with friends and family. Since my daughter was born much of my time outside of work is spent re-exploring and re-experiencing the wonders of life alongside her.

Referrals to affiliated community physicians/providers in Oregon and Washington
Affiliated community physicians/providers are not part of the NWPMG (Northwest Permanente Medical Group). They are physicians/providers credentialed by Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest and/or who have a contract with the NWPMG.
If your NWPMG physician decides that you require covered services not available internally from an NWPMG physician, he or she may refer you to an affiliated community physician/provider. You must have a written, authorized referral from Kaiser Permanente in order to receive a covered service from an affiliated community physician/provider.
Referrals to affiliated community dentists in Oregon and Washington
Affiliated community dentists are not part of PDA (Permanente Dental Associates). They are dentists credentialed by PDA for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest, and they have a contract with PDA.
If your PDA dentist decides that you require covered services not available internally from a PDA dentist, he or she may refer you to an affiliated community dentist. You must have a written, authorized referral from Kaiser Permanente in order to receive a covered service from an affiliated community dentist.
