About me
Biography
I am a family practice PA. I treat patients of all ages, from newborns to 90s and beyond! I enjoy helping people find healthy options for treating their illnesses. Whenever possible, I try to treat the cause of the illness, not just the symptoms. Caring for people is very fulfilling work for me. I won several awards during my PA education at the University of Washington, including the program's highest award: The "Spirit of MEDEX Award". I teach, and am a professor in family medicine at OHSU, and my alma mater, the UW.
About my practice
I have special expertise in substance use disorders, and pain management without opioids. I am also our clinic's Suboxone champion. I am fluent in trans and nonbinary care and am an ally for LGBTQI persons. I perform many procedures in the clinic, including most joint injections, lesion removals, IUDs, Nexplanons, and others. I love Cardiology, Orthopedics, Dermatology, and diabetes management. I speak Spanish, and welcome patients from all cultures. I really enjoy collaborating with my patients, finding solutions that work for each person. I think listening is the most important skill a provider can have, so I try to understand all of my patients' concerns.
How I thrive
I thrive by having a good work - life balance. I work hard on my days on, then my wife and I travel the world during our time off. We love visiting other cultures, learning some of the language, and new customs and points of view. We have been all over Asia, Oceania, and the Pacific together, and next we are going to explore Europe! We also garden, and I play chess (badly).

Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans’ contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of members’ KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.

Referrals to affiliated community physicians/providers in Oregon and Washington
Affiliated community physicians/providers are not part of the NWPMG (Northwest Permanente Medical Group). They are physicians/providers credentialed by Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest and/or who have a contract with the NWPMG.
If your NWPMG physician decides that you require covered services not available internally from an NWPMG physician, he or she may refer you to an affiliated community physician/provider. You must have a written, authorized referral from Kaiser Permanente in order to receive a covered service from an affiliated community physician/provider.
Referrals to affiliated community dentists in Oregon and Washington
Affiliated community dentists are not part of PDA (Permanente Dental Associates). They are dentists credentialed by PDA for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest, and they have a contract with PDA.
If your PDA dentist decides that you require covered services not available internally from a PDA dentist, he or she may refer you to an affiliated community dentist. You must have a written, authorized referral from Kaiser Permanente in order to receive a covered service from an affiliated community dentist.
