About me
Biography
As a virtual primary care physician, I don’t see my patients in person but instead provide care primarily via video (preferred) and telephone visits. When patients need to be seen in person, one of my care team colleagues can see them, and together we’ll coordinate care. My experience in my role has given me confidence that I can develop meaningful relationships with my patients and work together with them and others on our care team to create effective comprehensive care plans.
I was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago and completed my undergraduate studies in Waverly, Iowa. I began medical school in Dominica, West Indies, where I experienced two hurricanes, learned to wash clothes by hand, and cooked local dishes like "bake," a Caribbean breakfast bread. After medical school, I returned to Chicago for my Family Medicine residency at St. Joseph Hospital. My passion for medicine was inspired by caring for a parent with cancer during my teenage years, motivating me to pursue a career focused on compassionate care.
About my practice
I am a Board-Certified Family Medicine Virtualist physician, caring for patients aged 18 and older. My philosophy and approach to patient care involve treating the whole person, including addressing the underlying disease process.
I manage a wide range of common primary care conditions, such as asthma, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, and common viral and bacterial infections, including urinary tract infections (UTIs), among others. I also enjoy treating mental health conditions, such as uncomplicated anxiety and depression.
What I value most about being a KP clinician is being part of a team dedicated to delivering quality care that addresses the whole patient. My approach to medicine is patient-centered, and I strive to partner with you to achieve shared goals for health and wellness. I typically recommend diet and lifestyle management as a first-line approach, using medication to support and enhance our treatment plan when necessary.
What I appreciate most about being a Virtualist is the ability to provide care via video and phone appointments. This allows me to reach patients who may have limited access to in-person visits. If an in-person appointment is needed, my care team colleagues are available to assist.
How I thrive
In my spare time I love to cook, travel, and spend time with my loved ones.
