Where I practice
Sports medicine was an easy choice. Growing up in Southern California and then continuing schooling on the East Coast, I’ve personally managed to injure myself across multiple sports and climates. From rugby to crew, desert to tundra, I know just how hard it can be when an injury keeps you from doing what you love. My foundational training was at Kaiser Permanente in Orange County, where I focused on patient wellness and illness/injury prevention. My specialty training took me to Division 1, California State Northridge, where I served as team physician and in a specialty orthopedic group learning advanced rehab and ultrasound-guided interventions.
About my practice
My goal as a physician is to get you out of the house and back to what makes you, you. In my practice, we focus on enhancing your body’s own innate healing properties, keeping the needle away when possible and you seaworthy. But should we need it, I specialize in minimally invasive procedures with a focus on treating the root cause of injury while preventing recurrence. Whether your passion takes you to high altitudes, Crossfit competitions, marathons, Special Olympics, mixed martial arts, a first 5K, or back on the pickle ball court after 20 years, I’m here to help you reach your competitive goals. Whether you are recovering from a concussion, tendinopathy, sprain, strain, fracture, meniscal injury, or sports related illness, I’ll do whatever I can to get you back playing as quickly and safely as possible.
How I thrive
I believe “good health” requires a robust and balanced combination of mind, spirit, and body. Holding that philosophy close, along with my mantra, “do your darndest not to be a hypocrite,” I try to keep as physically and mentally active as possible. Sometimes that takes me to the Gorge for a hike with my wife and two puppers (Malt and Barley). Sometimes it means time in the gym to pursue my passion for strength and conditioning. And sometimes that means lounging with a good work of science fiction and a few cups of coffee. With my passion for dogs, strength and conditioning, trail running, skiing, craft beer, and the Pacific Northwest, I know we’ll have something to talk about.
