About me
I had an interest in medicine from a very young age, stemming from an appreciation for science and a passion for helping others. I graduated magna cum laude from the honors program at Colorado State University with a major in biomedical sciences. The role of lifestyle on health and disease prevention has always fascinated me, and I researched the impact of dietary fat on cognition and dementia risk as my honors thesis. I attended medical school at the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus and completed my family medicine residency training at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo. I love practicing family medicine for the breadth of the field, the emphasis on prevention, and the ability to foster strong patient-practitioner relationships.
About my practice
I prefer a holistic approach to medicine, with emphasis on lifestyle and prevention. During residency, I concurrently completed 200 hours of training in integrative medicine through the University of Arizona. I believe in the importance of educating patients about disease processes and empowering them to be partners in their health care. I also enjoy performing a variety of in-office procedures related to dermatologic and nail concerns, joint and trigger point injections, and women's health.
How I thrive
My family is my greatest motivator. On days off, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two dogs, exploring the outdoors – hiking, camping, snowboarding, bicycling, and rollerblading. I love painting and drawing, usually inspired by nature. During my years in Colorado, I volunteered as a martial arts and fitness instructor, and I am eager to resume training. I also enjoy utilizing my integrative medicine training and passion for culinary arts to create unique healthy dishes inspired by cultures from around the world.
