About me

Biography

I am a local Oregonian from the Willamette Valley area and I attended Western Oregon University where I completed a Bachelors degree in Psychology. I moved to Seattle for graduate school and attended University of Washington. After I finished my Masters in Social Work, I lived in the Seattle area for 8 more years where I met my partner and started a family. I received training at a local LGBTQ agency in downtown Seattle and then following graduation worked as a child, youth and family Therapist and group facilitator for queer youth in West Seattle and Burien, WA. Prior to moving back to Oregon in 2019, I was working as a lead social worker at a community hospital assisting in the emergency department, critical care and in psychiatric care. I returned to Oregon to be closer to family and to get back to my passion of providing quality individual mental health therapy. I worked for three years in Salem, Oregon as a mental health therapist before arriving at Kaiser Permanente.

My pronouns are she/her/hers and they/them/theirs.

About my practice

As a licensed social worker, I use evidence-based therapeutic approaches. My training has included cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), compassion-focused therapy (CFT), Intuitive eating skill building, Internal Family Systems (IFS) as well as utilize mindfulness, creative expression and guided meditation. These are the approaches I pull from and are modified to each client needs.

Cultural Specific Care: affirming care for LGBTQIA and non-binary individuals

Population Specialties: Youth (15+) and adults around issues related to trauma and anxiety disorders. I also specialize in disordered eating, body image and self-esteem issues.

Language Capacity: English

Areas of focus: In addition to interventions for a range of mental health conditions including depression and anxiety, I have specific skills in working with people experiencing gender dysphoria, body dysmorphia and those struggling with eating disorders and posttraumatic stress disorder.

How I thrive

I thrive by finding connection with people as well as in nature. There is nothing more grounding. I feel most at peace when I am at the beach or in a forest. I also thrive through creativity and expression. I enjoy reading, crafting and spending quality time with my family and two pugs.
