About me

I am originally from Salt Lake City, Utah. I received a bachelor's in biology from the University of Oregon and a master's in genetic counseling from the University of Utah. Prior to finding my calling in genetic counseling, I worked in cancer research for nearly a decade at OHSU and at the University of Utah. I pursued genetic counseling in an effort to meld my science background with patient care.

About my practice

My current role as a genetic counselor focuses on prenatal and preconception genetics. I have particular interests in underserved populations and the intersection of genetic information and psychosocial counseling. Genetics is a complicated topic. My goal is to help translate genetic information into patient-friendly language and help individuals, families, and couples understand the implications of a particular genetic test result or screen.

How I thrive

I enjoy yoga, a nice dairy-free latte, and a good book. I love to travel and am an amateur photographer. I enjoy being in the Pacific Northwest and exploring all the wonderful food carts and hikes that the area has to offer.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans’ contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of members’ KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
